About Me

Kevin Hobbs is a veteran of the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology industry and the CEO of blockchain-based firm Vanbex Group & Vanbex Labs. Vanbex Group is a company that has evolved from a strategic communications and consultancy firm into a full blockchain laboratory, helping established companies and startups alike harness emerging technology for a changing world.

Kevin Hobbs joined Vanbex Group in 2015 and has since helped grow the company from a small group of 3 people to a team of over 65.

In his role as CEO, Kevin Hobbs is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business and plotting the course and vision for the company and all Vanbex Group of companies. This includes keeping a close eye on future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services, blockchain and smart contract technology. His responsibilities range from client and project management (business development, framing of key approaches, high-quality client delivery, written products) to administration (information technology, reporting, facilities), and human capital (HR/recruiting, mentoring, career progression).

With over a decade of management experience, Kevin Hobbs has worked in a variety of professional roles which include: professional day trader for Swift Trade in Vancouver, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DealSoftware.com, and FIRMA Foreign Exchange, one of the world’s leading foreign exchange brokers (B2B), among other roles.
As a tech entrepreneur, Kevin Hobbs is regularly invited to speak at conferences in the blockchain and financial technology industries. He is particularly interested in how blockchain technologies innovate how business is done in the future.

Through his success at Vanbex Group, Kevin Hobbs donates his efforts to give back to charities like the United Way, Ronald McDonald house, Big Brothers, and the Canadian Cancer Society. He also helped form Vanbex Cares “a Charitable Organization” to adapt new blockchain & smart contract technology to help make charitable giving more transparent and efficient.

Kevin Hobbs attended Dalhousie University in Halifax where he studied business administration and management.
